History
THE SAF VETERANS’ LEAGUE (SAFVL) was formed in 1990 within SAFRA to cater to all retired Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) personnel and volunteers. The League is basically autonomous in conducting its affairs and aims to promote the interest and welfare of its members as well as encourage and enhance various interests of the members through activities in a bid to enhance their quality of life. SAFVL also hopes to provide a common venue for members to meet for the purpose of promoting greater cohesion and interaction among its members and the SAF. Another objective of the League is to provide an avenue for its members to maintain links and partnership with the SAF.
In 1998, the League set up a Welfare Fund. This consists of funds received for the welfare of members and is utilised by the committee to provide social services in the caring for and assisting of needy Veterans.
